EAST Mentoring Program
The EAST Mentoring Program aims to foster the academic and personal growth of early-to-mid career trauma and acute care surgeons through extramural mentorship. The 2026 program continues a multi-tiered "Mentoring Family" or "Mentoring Team" model that brings together groups of medical professionals for shared learning and support.
Mentee Requirements
- In Training (students, residents, fellows), Early Career (0–5 years), or Mid-Career (6–15 years).
- EAST member in good standing with dues paid in full.
- Active participation for the full 1-year program.
- International applicants may be matched outside their time zone.
Mentor Requirements
- Mid-Career (5–15 years) or Senior Career (>15 years).
- EAST member in good standing with dues paid in full.
- Complete the online application for matching purposes.
- International applicants may be matched outside their time zone.
Program Duration
The mentorship program runs from April 2026 to April 2027.
Effort & Expectations
A consistent commitment to the mentorship process is expected. If a Mentor or Mentee is unable to continue, EAST Headquarters should be notified so that team arrangements can be reviewed.
Time Commitment
Typically 2 to 4 hours per month, based on Mentor and Mentee availability.
How to Apply

1. Register
Click on the Register button and complete the account creation form to get started.
2. Login
Log in to the EAST Mentorship Portal using your email and password to access your dashboard.
3. Create
Begin your Mentorship Registration Form by adding your details, preferences, and background information.
4. Save
During the Call for Mentor/Mentee period, you may save your form as DRAFT until all sections are completed and attachments uploaded.
As you complete sections, a will appear in the category tab. You can download or print your submission at any time using the icon in the Mentorship Summary.
5. Submit
When your form is complete, save your submission as FINAL. You may download or print a copy for your records using the icon in the Mentorship Summary panel.
If updates are required before the Call for Submissions closes, you may edit and resave as FINAL.
